Common tech problems in new builds
WiFi that dies at the back bedroom
Double brick, concrete slabs and steel framing kill signal. A single router at the front of the house never reaches the master suite, the alfresco or the garage.
Cabling forgotten until it is too late
Once the plaster is on, running Cat6 to a bedroom or a camera position means cutting the wall open. Planning it before rough-in saves thousands.
CCTV added as an afterthought
Retro-fitting cameras looks messy, sits crooked, and the wiring runs down the outside of the wall. Planning camera positions with the sparky is a five-minute conversation that changes the finish.
Electronic doors that never got wired
Homeowners want keyless entry, video intercom and the ability to buzz the cleaner in from their phone. That needs low-voltage cabling to the front door and gate, and a decision on the lock brand before framing.
How we solve them
We come out at rough-in, plan the runs with your sparky and site supervisor, and come back at final-fix. One trade, one point of contact for every piece of tech in the home.
Whole-of-home WiFi & cabling
Cat6 to every room that needs it, wall-mounted access points for real signal in every corner, and a comms cabinet in the garage or study.

Frequently asked questions
Do you work directly with the builder or the homeowner?
Both. We can be engaged by the builder as a technology sub-trade, or directly by the homeowner during the build. Most of the time we coordinate with the site supervisor so cabling and mounts are done at the right stage of construction.
What is involved in cabling a new build?
We run Cat6 or Cat6A to every room that needs it, plus TV points, WiFi access point positions, camera drops and door-lock cabling. Everything terminates in a central patch panel or comms cabinet so future upgrades are simple.
When during construction should we call you in?
Ideally before plaster. We do our first-fix cable runs after framing and rough-in electrical, then return after paint and flooring for the final-fix devices. If the build is further along, we can still work around it.
Can you install electronic door locks on a new home?
Yes. We install electronic doors and access control on new builds. That covers keyless entry, phone unlock, video intercom at the front door and integration with the home network so the owner can manage everything from an app.
Do you offer ongoing support after handover?
Yes. Many homeowners keep us on for remote support, firmware updates, and adding devices over time. It is optional, and we do not lock you into a contract.
